The plug-in

The MicroFret plug-in never connects to the internet and sends nothing about you or your music anywhere. Your licence key is checked on your own computer.

This website

The site sets no cookies and uses no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. Its fonts and images are served from the site itself. While you check out, your browser keeps your order reference in temporary tab storage so the thank-you page can find it; it disappears when you close the tab. The host (Vercel) keeps ordinary technical server logs, such as IP address and requested page, for security and operation. The private link that brings you back from the payment page to your licence page contains a secret token. Like any web address it can therefore appear in the server logs of this site, and it is also stored by Wayl, because it is the return address saved inside your payment link.

Counting visits and downloads

The site keeps simple counts of its own, in its own database: how many times each page was opened and how many times each download button was pressed, per day, per page or button, per language and per country. The country is the two-letter code (for example IQ) that Vercel works out from your IP address; we keep the code, never the address. A count has no name, no cookie, no IP address, no browser details and no referring page, so it cannot be tied to you or to your order. If your browser sends the “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signal, nothing is counted.

When you buy

We ask for your name and email address. We use them to take the payment, to create your licence key (the key contains your name, email and the date) and to send it to you, and to answer your questions about your purchase.

We never see or store your card or wallet details: you pay on Wayl’s page, which is run by Wayl under its own privacy policy. Wayl tells us whether the order was paid; we do not store anything else it may send.

Who handles your data

The country is worked out by Vercel from your IP address when you visit and when you check out. It is used to choose the price and the payment methods shown to you, and to show the box that EU, EEA and UK law asks for. We store only the two-letter country code, not your IP address.

We do not sell your data or use it for marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep the order record for as long as your licence exists, so we can send you your key again if you lose it. Ask us and we will delete your order record; your already-issued key will keep working because it is checked on your computer.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time through the contact page.
